Markus Suomi

Markus has more than 25 years of experience in the technology sector, having held senior leadership (CEO, CTO) roles in big corporations and medium-sized enterprises, as well as in startups. He has experience managing software teams of up to 1,500 people across the US, Asia, and Europe. Most recently, he served as CTO of Tieto, a Nordic IT services and software company.

His past career (Nokia, Tieto, Finpro, Web Of Trust, Symbio) has provided him with a rich toolbox of experiences to employ in a complex, dynamic business environment that requires an understanding of multiple perspectives in order to make the best possible decisions about the way forward.

Markus has built disruptive new products and has been disrupted himself, giving him a healthy appreciation of the transformative powers of technological innovation. He has a passion for product development and business development. Markus is always seeking to learn new things about enabling technologies and which new business models they enable.

Markus holds an M.Sc. in Software Engineering from Tampere University of Technology. While he has focused for most of his career on the strategic leadership aspect of technological innovation, he is still a geek, spending a substantial portion of his free time on coding and hands-on experiments with new software technologies.
